A great post. I never really figured out how to put these things into words, but you did it well. So thanks for sharing!

I feel completely the same though, like you, I was definitely not like this a year ago. I'm counting on this drive to last me until I'm finished with university and such, but it'd be great if this could last me the rest of my life. Perhaps it'll become second nature? Or is that wishful thinking?

Yup, takes practice, but honestly those mistakes you made are not only things that could have failed you, they could have been dangerous. Speeding up to make yellow, Driving without a seatbelt, too much speed on turns, and not turning off the engine when filling up are very dangerous and could have gotten you killed! Just don't make those mistakes again...

Driving gets better with practice. You are not the worst trust me! My poctor must have messed up to. I hit the curb...twice and he passed me. :D

If I did those things on my test, I know that I would have failed. But hey! you passed - and I think that you're doing the correct thing in response to it. Driving is something we get better at with time and age after we've passed our tests as far as I know.

I use to make a ton of mistakes during my first months of driving, so I think it's fairly typical of you to have these kind of driving "boo-boos" at this time.

As for number 4, if you're lost, remember that it happens to all of us. If you don't know where you are, you can simply drive to a store and ask a staff/customer/stranger for directions.

Anyway, it's just really all about adapting and learning from your mistakes. Good luck!

now that you’re grown up and can wear clothes for more than a couple years at a time, right?

I think it's exactly this! It is so empowering to be in control of my own finances now, whereas I relied heavily on my parents as a teen and grew to despise the outrageous prices of designer items. Why pay a high price for a single item when you can have more for less? Now it's all about quality vs. quantity.

Thanks! Good luck to you too. Half of the year is over, but the other half is just beginning. =) Time to get your license! I suggest do it earlier than you plan to, because I put it off for so long and feel terribly behind. I could've been used to driving by now.

It sounds like you're doing tons of awesome things! Reminds me that I should get my driver's license soon. I'm 20 years old, so I've got three more years before I'm behind you?

I have learned your Honorable Mention II recently. Sometimes prices of designer-name items are still expensive, but they are typically of very good quality. Nothing wrong with paying more for clothing and such now that you're grown up and can wear clothes for more than a couple years at a time, right?

Good luck on the rest of your plans! It seems like you are definitely meeting your 2011 goals.

I think I've told myself many times before, that life is often composed of things we have control over and things we don't. We tend to exaggerate the things we don't have control over, but understand that many things we attribute to luck are merely a combination of our own preparation, and seizing of opportunity.

"If you could kick the person most responsible for your troubles in the pants, you wouldn't be able to sit for a week" - Theodore Roosevelt, and very true I think.

I once had a friend who told me that I can't look at everything I want to do at once, because that'd be overwhelming. I should instead only look at one small piece at a time, and after some time, all the small pieces will be done! Even that's easier said than done, but it makes your challenge a little bit easier.

My impression of the people who are very successful is that they had both opportunity and hard work in there. Because a good chunk of being successful and getting things done is just seeing opportunities and taking the hard work and initiative to act on them. Sometimes you even have to make opportunities for yourself, which is even harder. So maybe they're more fortunate than you, but it definitely wasn't by pure luck.

I hope that you meet your goals! I think that you can do them, you just have to get yourself to do them and figure out the best way to do them.
